Rooted here from the start
HQF Lawyers traces its roots to 1978, when the practice first opened in Coolangatta, two small rooms in the heart of town. More than four decades on, we’re still here, on the same stretch of the southern Gold Coast, looking after the people who live and work around us.
The story behind the name
HQF stands for Hamilton Quinlan Fenwick, the solicitors whose names the firm carried as it grew. Through its early years the practice traded under different names as new partners joined. The initials stayed; the commitment to this community never changed.
Growing with the community
As the town grew, so did we — always within the same few blocks of Coolangatta. Through the decades, partners came and went, but our focus stayed close to home: property, wills and estates, and the everyday legal needs of Gold Coast families and small businesses.
